Beyoncé is at it again – using her powers for good. Not only has she created BeyGOOD Houston, which teamed up with Bread of Life, Greater Houston Community Foundation, and Texas Southern University to help those displaced in her hometown, but she participated in the Hand in Hand telethon event for Hurricane Harvey. She is now using her musical prowess to aid those affected in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Caribbean islands with her remix of J. Balvin and Willy William’s, “Mi Gente”.
I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the other affected Caribbean islands. To help go to Beyonce.com/reliefefforts.
Further proving that Bey is Queen, she adds her unmistakable voice to “Mi Gente” by singing in Spanish. Is she bad at anything? The answer is obvious. If you want to extend your donation even further, check out Beyoncé’s list of other ways you can lend a hand to the relief efforts here.
And if you’re on the East Coast, you won’t want to miss the TIDAL x Brooklyn benefit show on October 17. Jennifer Lopez, Fifth Harmony, and Iggy Azalea are just a few of the performers joining Jay-Z at his annual benefit at Barclays Center. All proceeds will be going to natural disaster relief and recovery organizations. The power couple that donates together stays together.
We all want another musical way to support hurricane relief, right? We’ve got good news: Lin-Manuel Miranda will hopefully be releasing his song for Puerto Rico soon!
