IMHO, These Were the Super Bowl Ads Worth Watching. What Do You Think?

It's all about celebrities.

What’s the best part of the Super Bowl? Is it actually the football? The halftime show? The wings? Okay, it might actually be the wings. But, for the sake of this argument let’s just pretend it’s the ads.

The cost of a 30 second ad aired during the Super Bowl is over $5 million dollars, according to CNBC. Companies put it all out there to be the one commercial people are talking about. So, which are the few Super Bowl ads that were actually worth the money spent. Here’s my take.

1. Olay Killer Skin Ad

Sarah Michelle Gellar is perfect as a scream queen and was a nod to her role in “I Know What You Did Last Summer”. The ad is perfectly creepy and intense. Just check how radiant her skin is!

2. Pringles Sad Device Commercial

This commercial is absolutely hilarious. It feeds off of the Alexa or Google Home trend by focusing on a home device wishing it could taste the goodness of Pringles. Technology being sad about not going through the human experience was a common thread, but this is by far the funniest one.

3. Amazon’s Not Everything Makes the Cut Commercial

This star-studded commercial shows the different ideas that were tested to be a part of the Alexa family. It is funny. And, Harrison Ford has an adorable puppy!

4. Microsoft’s We All Win Commercial

This ad is adorable and empowering. My friend cried the first time we saw it. The commercial shows how companies can make accessible products. Particularly the gaming industry. It’s an Adaptive Controller, and it is absolutely great.

5. Pepsi’s More than OK

“Is Pepsi Okay?” seems like a common phrase to hear when eating out. Pepsi plays on the words by showing you how okay Pepsi can be. Steve Carrell, Lil Jon, and Cardi B go all out in this commercial. And let me tell you, it’s worth the money.

EXTRA

Game of Thrones and Bud Light

This commercial makes the weirdest crossover of all times. That is what makes the ad so entertaining. So, whether you like beer or HBO, this is one for you.

Ads are a staple of the Super Bowl, but sadly not all are worth the wait. These are the few that are definitely taking the win this year.
