All you have to do is call their personal styling service and set up an appointment to try on dresses, accessories, shoes, and more. And the best part is all these fabulous goodies will be ready for you when you arrive!
Nordstrom is actually known for its world-class customer service and has an incredible staff ready to help put the perfect outfit together for you, regardless of your budget! Give them a call, tell them what you like, and leave the rest in their professional hands.
We recently paid them a visit, because who doesn’t want to get their prom on? We walked into the Flagship store in downtown Seattle last weekend with clear eyes, full hearts, and high fashion hopes. And honestly, we were totally blown away by our experience.
From funky avant-garde to classic sophisticated, our prom squad was looking for options. We all have different styles, budgets, and body types and our stylist, Su Joo was one hundred percent challenge accepted! She set us up with so many goooorgeous options too!
Once we had our fill of dresses, the magic didn’t stop. Next up? We spent some time at the Charlotte Tilbury counter where their makeup experts used their beauty magic to accentuate our our best features, and worked our chosen dresses into the color mix. From dresses to finishing touches it was the full prom package all with a celeb status feel. A girl could get used to this.
Here’s how our Nordstrom prom session went down:
Nordstrom Prom Gown Styling
When we arrived, our fitting rooms were set up with dresses and accessories to complete each look. One of our favorites was the ‘Alhambra’ embellished envelope clutch by Glint ($99). It’s perfect for adding a bit of bling to your LBD (Little Black Dress, fyi. Got your back girl).
Another trend we totally fell for was the two-piece dress, shown here in black and silver by JVN by Jovani ($328). This number also comes with a fun wrap to throw on if you get chilly on prom night. We all know what a drag a coat can be on a perfectly curated outfit.
Our first full looks included a classic black silhouette, the shimmery two piece, and a colorful red gown with a high leg slit. With Su’s bag, jewelry and shoes suggestions, we were ready to go!
Another thing we learned, just because you’re working with a stylist, doesn’t mean you don’t get to peruse yourself! We spotted this gorgeous blue mermaid gown from Mac Duggal. Unfortunately, at $798 it was a little out of our prom budget, but a girl can dream!
For those of us who were looking for a little less exposed, we found this perfect Vince Camuto beaded cuff dress in rich plum. With just enough “bling” at the end of the wrist, it’s got the wow factor you’re looking for without being too over the top. And it’s so flattering! We all tried it on Traveling Pants style and this dress is legit. At $188, it’s a bargain that you can wear for special occasions now and in the future. Hello college formal!
Our girl Su also informed us that formal chokers are all the rage this prom season. She let us try on one of the Vintage Hollywood X KYE pieces before they sold out. Serve us all of the bling please! For something not so heavy, check out this simple jeweled gem from BP. It’s a steal at $7.49.
Nordstrom Prom Makeup Counter Visit
Prom outfits in hand, we headed down for a lesson in all things prom beauty at the Charlotte Tillbury counter. With custom looks that fit all three of our personalities and wardrobes, we couldn’t help but fall in love with this line!
No surprise the makeup team was amazing and had so much fun giving each of us a lesson in how to look best for prom. Bonus? Tips we can use everyday, becasue necessary. They also helped identify which products we should invest in, giving us a guide to building a makeup kit that will go the distance.
With our mission accomplished, we walked out the door feeling fabulous and confident about prom, which we all know can be a mess of insecurities and high-maintenance to do lists. Thank you again Nordstrom! You rocked our prom!0
