Goals and Resolutions? Instead, Connect From Within

Uproot Your Life

In order to be successful in life, to find true happiness, one has to find a connectedness with self first. With the new year here. Many of us are writing down, plotting, and making goals for ourselves that we will carry on into the New Year with optimism and hope.

Yet how many times have you noticed that among all the goals you set, all the resolutions you create, the ability to truly find that success, seems impossible? That no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try. You keep failing, falling back into the same old habits, that you worked so hard to break free from in the first place?

I know I have, many times. I’ll work hard, or think I am, then end up kicking myself repeatedly because I have not gotten any further than I had intended to prior. I’ll let outside influences, inner conflicts, and past struggles, steer me from truly living the life I deserve. I’ll allow them to steer me from truly accomplishing all that I planned.

Sometimes things get tough, and if you’ve had similar issues to mine, the problem is not something that can be solved from the outside looking in (even if you really wish it was). It’s something that lie within you. It’s something that you have to overcome on a personal level.

Every answer you are seeking is already inside of you. Look within. Do the inner work, and what happens because of it, will surprise you.

If you wish to succeed at those goals you’ve set, if you wish to accomplish whatever task you wish to. Then you need to turn within to figure out exactly what it is that may be holding you back from doing so. You have to get to know who you are beyond the physical aspect of it all, and bump uglies with those inner-demons you may unknowingly be fighting.

You have to open your awareness and connect with yourself from within. I mean really strive to find the center of who you are. Dig deep and uproot whatever struggles you hold within. Be the creator of your reality, not the defender.

The experiences you’ve had throughout life. All play a major role into how you act, perceive, and handle different situations you may encounter today. The connectedness you have with self, the strength and resilience you carry within, are all an essence of who you are.

They are all a product of where your journey will take you and how you will succeed.

Those struggles you may have faced, those experiences that may have altered your perception, are not who you are today.

But they will be if you allow them to control, alter and become you entirely. Don’t be that person. Take back that control, give yourself the ability to uproot whatever struggles you may be facing within. Then watch yourself succeed in all areas of your life.

Don’t let those burdens define you. Don’t allow them to keep you hidden in the shadows from all that this life has to offer you anymore. Take that leap. Give yourself a chance to truly break free from those barriers, and create your destiny.

The journey will not always be easy, the tides may become too high, the road may become too rough, and the destination may feel too far. But allow yourself to persevere through. Push yourself, and really try.

Perseverance is not a long race, it’s many short races one after the other. Just remember, you can do anything you set your mind to, but it takes action, perseverance, and the ability to face your own fears. -Walter Elliot/Gillian Anderson

You may have to walk through darkness you never knew existed, but it will all be worth it in the end. For the end result holds much more value then the struggles may. The journey is what counts.

Give yourself an opportunity to become everything you have intended to. Allow yourself to become the best version of you possible with every ounce of your being. Reconnecting with self, doesn’t have to be hard. So allow yourself the ability to try.

Here are some ways to start:

Shift your perception- See things from a new light, and watch your experiences change.

“Miracles happen everyday, change your perception of what a miracle is and you’ll see them all around.” -Bon Jovi

Think Positive- Find the positives in everything you do, see, or experience throughout life.

“The more you feed your mind with positive thoughts, the more you can attract great things into your life.” -Roy T Bennett

Write it out/self reflect- Give yourself a chance to truly understand why you have reactions, linked with different things/experiences.

“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.”  -Carl Jung

Meditate/do what makes you happy- Find ways to be one with self, do things that allow you to really clear/quite the mind and be present with you, let your soul speak.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” -Buddha

Make A plan- Figure out exactly how you are going to work on you, and stick with it.

“You can’t plow a field simply by turning it over in your mind.” -Gordan B. Hinckley

In the end it all comes down to you, and your ability to try, and keep at it. You know you best.

Start within, uproot whatever it is that may be holding you back, and persevere through.

No answers will truly come from outside of you. Look within. Stop holding yourself back and give yourself the ability overcome and be everything you intended to be.

Be resilient, be strong, and keep moving forward.
