Mindfulness is not just an emotion or train of thought. It’s a way of life. In the world we live in today, leading a mindful life can seem challenging. With all the outside distractions that are present, all that may be happening in the outside world. It can make it easy for one to become swept up within all the chaos. One that steers you away from who you are within. Mindful living is a way to break that pattern and start anew.

When you are mindful, you are completely connected to the body, mind, and soul. You are centered, grounded and feel unstoppable. Which is something we should all strive to accomplish in our daily lives.

Throughout your life, many of the outside influences you’ve encountered (or still do) may have taught and trained you to believe that the concept of being your own person, of living your own life, isn’t really possible.

That in order to find “true happiness,” in life, you are required to lead a life similar to how many others may. It’s what they believe, what they’ve always believed, so it’s pushed upon you and it then becomes your burden to carry.

When in reality, that perception is false. It’s an obscured image that has been forced upon many from the beginning of time. Yes, you want to live a life of comfort, with stability, security, and certainty. But how you should go about doing so, is opposite of what you may have been taught to believe.

There’s this great big world out there waiting for your embrace. Allow yourself to venture into the unknown and have those experiences. Let yourself see the world for all it truly is. And go live that life.

Create experiences that speak to your soul, that open your mind and your awareness to more than any stresses the outside world may bring you. Look beyond it. Connect to that source.

Live with passion, follow your bliss, and don’t limit yourself to what you can accomplish anymore. You were not simply brought here to work a job you may not like, only to rush through life as if time is replaceable, just to miss everything this life has to offer you. You were made for so much more.

Being mindful is about truly being present with all that you are, and all that you are surrounded by, and taking that and reflecting it outward.

Give yourself a chance to truly live with mindfulness. Practice it and let it become your way of life. Be curious, let your passion drive you. Mindful living is a product of living life fully, and presently. It’s an opportunity to truly connect with self, and the world around you.

Here are Seven ways to live more mindfully:

Disconnect from the outside world: Give yourself time to really be with you. Allow yourself the chance to re-center, re-focus and make your intentions/priorities clear. Find the connectedness with who you are and all that surrounds you in the universe as a whole.

Allow your senses to flourish: Truly reconnect with nature. Give yourself the ability to really find your grounding with the universe. Let yourself experience the beauty of it all, and take it all in.

Listen: When you spend time in nature, or with yourself, when the noises are silenced and your connection with the universe is whole, allow yourself to listen. Let your soul speak to you, and allow yourself the ability to really listen to what it has to say. Quiet the outside noises and just be one. Be still, and embrace all that will come.

Gratitude: Be more appreciative of the little things in life. Allow yourself to truly be mindful of all that you see daily. Stop wandering aimlessly through it, actually allow yourself the ability to stop and smell the roses, truly breathe it all in for what it is as it comes. While it’s there.

Be present: Put down your phone, your ipad, or whatever other distractions you may have. Disconnect for a while and give yourself a chance to really be in the moment you have right now. Open your eyes to all that surrounds you and really be tapped in, tuned in, and turned on. Notice the little things. Be aware of all that is right in front of you.

Meditate: Meditation is always a way to live mindfully. It opens your senses, allows connectedness, and gives you the ability to listen, and truly be grateful for all that you have. It brings forth an awareness of who you are and shifts your perception entirely.

Direct Your Attention: Shift your attention to what matters most. Allow yourself to truly see, analyze, and be aware of what you are doing when you are doing it. Don’t let your mind continue to jump from one task to another, really give yourself a moment to simply direct your attention to what matters most. Perception is everything, and how you perceive things in life will ultimately steer you away from, or guide you to where you truly want to be in life.

Mindfulness is a journey that can open doors to new horizons.
