We all need to be reminded that we are awesome every once in a while. Especially when we’re going through complicated times. So, these are a few tips on how to re-gain our confidence and know we are freaking queens.
1. Know that it’s a process
No one has a perfect self esteem all the time. We all go through times when we’re insecure. Learning to love ourselves is a process. It’s like learning to ride a bike, sometimes we need training wheels.
2. Work on it every day
Part of learning is making it a routine. So, remind yourself how awesome you are every day. Maybe just look at yourself in a mirror and acknowledge your beauty. Or write some notes that remind you of how smart you are. Do small things that make you smile every day.
3. Embrace your flaws
Know that nobody is perfect. The pressure to be perfect can cause so many insecurities. Rid yourself of that impossible standard. Everyone has flaws. So, know yours and learn to see how they are part of who you are.
4. Be Selfish
Just doing things that make you smile can make you feel better. It’s okay to be selfish sometimes and that needs to be said more often. Focus on things you want to do instead of worrying about what those around you think. That happiness will extend to different aspects of our lives. Sometimes just knowing what we like can make us feel more comfortable in our skin.
5. Surround yourself with people who know your worth
Finding friends that lift you up is one of the most important things in life. Even when we don’t believe in ourselves, it is important to have people who do. People who care about our growth as people can change our perspective about ourselves. So, cut that negativity out of your life and find friends who will support you 100%.
Saying this is easier than doing it. So, know that it is a continued struggle to grow into our skins and be better about self love. We need to recognize that our worth is only measured by our thoughts and feelings, so, know that you are worth so much.
