Ballin’ On A Budget: My Favorite Drugstore Makeup Products

There's no reason why you have to pay prestige prices when you can get the same results for less.

I’m a huge follower of beauty vloggers— Lauren Curtis, Huda Kattan, Bella Fiori, to name a few. It’s so tempting to run out after binging on their Youtube channels and buy every product they used in the tutorial. But, as much as I would like to, I can’t bring myself to justify spending $30 on a tube of mascara—regardless of the brand. In my opinion, there’s something sweet about using products that look just as great, for a fraction of the price.

With that, I give you the drugstore makeup and cosmetic products that I’m loving at the moment:
Primer
Ulta.com

Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer, $6.99

I love this primer because it goes on like a moisturizer. In my experience, I’ve found that some primers feel kind of heavy/oily once applied, but this one absolutely does not. It is a thicker primer at first impression, but again it feels like a moisturizer once it’s on.

Foundation
Ulta.com

No. 7 Stay Perfect Foundation, $15.99

I cannot say enough good things about this foundation. No. 7 is a British skincare/cosmetic line, and has only recently been available in the states. Their Stay Perfect Foundation is the best because it goes on very thin, but still has the same effect that other full coverage foundations do. I’ve also found that it doesn’t get splotchy throughout the day, so you don’t need to worry about midday touch ups.

Powder
Ulta.com

Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder, $5.49

Rimmel’s Stay Matte Pressed Powder is truly my lifesaver. I have oily/combination skin, and used to get very self conscious about my foundation looking oily throughout the day. When I found this product, I could finally take a breath. I use this to set my foundation before I apply any bronzer to my face, so that I can ensure a thin, yet matte finish throughout the day.

Bronzer
Ulta.com

NYX Matte Bronzer, $8.99

NYX Matte Bronzer keeps me coming back because, again, its matte finish. I was finding it nearly impossible to find a flat bronzer that didn’t include sparkles or glitter or shimmer, something that I could wear every day. The saying “less is more” is definitely key with this product, and it is completely buildable when you’re applying.

Blush
Target.com

Milani Baked Blush, $6.99

I don’t have much to say here other than I love all of Milani’s products. This blush doubles as a highlighter with gold ribbons throughout. It’s super easy to blend as you go, and gives a natural pinch of color to your cheeks.

Brow Pencil
Ulta.com

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer, $8.99

Since “the perfect brow” is the hot trend of the moment, it’s vital that you have a good pencil to start with. This pencil is fine tipped, and doesn’t require a sharpener (yay!). I love this product because it is easy to control and the fine tip allows you to have a more natural look, rather than a super dramatic brow.

Eyeshadow
Ulta.com

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette, $9.99

I would say this palette is the closest dupe you can get to Urban Decay’s Naked 3 in the drugstore. The natural blush tones are great for every day, with darker crease colors for night if you’d like!

Eyeliner
Ulta.com

Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner, $8.49

Achieving the perfect winged liner gives me anxiety. But, this product makes it all possible! You literally only need one swipe of the liquid liner to achieve a great winged look because of the shape of the tip. You will love this, I can almost guarantee it.

Mascara

Ulta.com

Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara, $8.99

There’s definitely a theme here, but with this product, you do not need to apply more than one, maybe two, coats to have full, voluminous lashes. The best part? It comes off extremely easily in the shower so you won’t be tugging at your lashes at the end of the day.

Try these out and let me know what you think! The best thing about purchasing less expensive makeup is that you don’t feel guilty switching up your routine halfway through the bottle and trying out different brands and products. I hope you love these as much as I do!
