Lizzo Is All About Body Positivity, Reminds Us to Stay Confident In “Good As Hell”

Hey Metiza gals. I’m going to be honest here: Lizzo is one of the best live shows I’ve seen this year. (2017 isn’t over yet, but there’s a chance it will be #1). I was fortunate enough to catch her at Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party last month and her performance blew me away. I’ll be the first to tell you: I don’t like dancing, but Lizzo made me dance. I loved every second of it. Am I gushing yet?

I was first introduced to Lizzo by my favorite yogi, Adriene. (You can roll your eyes because I talk about Yoga With Adriene so much – it’s cool.) Anyway, she posted some Instagram stories from Lizzo’s show in Austin earlier this year, and I’ve been wanting to see her ever since. The 28-year-old singer/rapper is all about body positivity, loving yourself, and making songs you can dance to.

She runs with an all-female crew which includes two amazing backup dancers aka “The Big Girls”, and the badass DJ Sophia Eris. Her live show was better than I could have imagined – she even brought up a fan to dance with her – it was amazing. Bottom line: you need to see her, it will change your life.

Given her passion for all things girl power, she’s an honorary Metiza girl in my book. Ladies, if this track doesn’t inspire you to get over your ex, do you, and enjoy your life, then I don’t know what will. Be sure to check out her debut album, Coconut Oil, on Apple Music and Spotify!
